It's 1.45 am and I am compelled to type this post; a post that is a kind of moving forward and doubling back and reassessment and confirmation and change of tack all at the same time. I'm making no sense? I say again: it is 1.45 am...
I've been lying in bed for the past hour or so contemplating what I'm really up to with this space and where I want it to go; I feel like I force myself to post sometimes and the results are, more often than not: a)boring b)something not quite myself and/or c)aren't really in furtherance of my writing or creative goals. To be completley honest, I have a cliched love/hate relationship with this little ol' blog of mine. It's time for a shake up; we need a change.
One of my goals this year was to post more regularly; to get into a good routine of writing interesting content and expand my readership. The thing is, attempting to reach this goal (even this early on in the game) has hindered my attempts to work towards my other aspirations; something had to give and, alas, this is it.
I want to strip this back; to have and share a polished portfolio of work I can be proud of; to stop procrastinating and work. So I'm going to do that. I will be back, eventually, with a website portfolio rather than a blog and with (fingers, toes, ears, eyes crossed) a more focussed and enthusiastic approach towards my writing.
